Dr Sian at the Menopause Clinic Sunshine Coast

Lovely to meet you, I’m Dr. Sian Hebron

I have been a GP for over 30 years with a special interest in women’s health and menopause care.

I trained at the Royal Free Hospital in London before moving to Australia in 1992, where I’ve built a career helping women navigate every stage of their lives.

I’m passionate about empowering women to take control of their health and well-being, especially during the transformative journey of menopause. My approach is grounded in evidence-based medicine, compassionate care, and a touch of humor because sometimes, a good laugh is the best medicine.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me exploring remote corners of the globe, kayaking through icy waters, or enjoying time with my two daughters. I’m a firm believer that life only gets better with age, and I’m here to help you rediscover your vitality and confidence, no matter where you are on your menopause journey.

Your Health, Your Confidence, Your Life At Every Stage

Whether you’re experiencing the transition of menopause, managing PMDD, living with PCOS or endometriosis, seeking contraceptive counselling, or struggling with migraine management, you’ll receive care that is:

No you don’t, you can book directly. No referral is required. Some patients like to let their regular GP know and they are welcome to send through any relevant history or results. I can write to your GP after your appointment or you can share the summary provided to you with your usual GP.

We are a private billing clinic. Medicare rebates apply for eligible services, and we’ll always be upfront about fees. You can see current pricing on our Fees page.

The fees reflect the time and care spent developing your treatment plan with you and any follow up via email between appointments that you need to provide you support.

Yes, when appropriate. HRT can be life-changing for many women, detailed discussion through the risks, benefits, and different options. It’s not one-size-fits-all, and treatment is tailore to to your needs.

That’s absolutely fine. Your body your choice , support provided to you with lifestyle changes, non-hormonal treatments, and guidance based on what the evidence supports. No pressure.

Not at all. While menopause is a big focus, I also help younger women with issues like PMDD, PCOS, painful periods, contraception, and navigating hormonal chaos at any age. If it affects your hormones, your wellbeing, or your sanity. I am interested and will provide options

Yes, I offer follow-up options including telehealth and email check-ins when needed. We are not a 24/7 service, but I do my best to provide continuity of care and a friendly face who remembers your story.

We’re based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Our address is 4/6 Swanbourne Way, Noosaville, QLD 4566. The Menopause Connection is located inside Noosa Mind Hub”. The building is located behind the bakery.

Telehealth is also available for women across Australia.

Yes. The Menopause Connection is an inclusive clinic that welcomes anyone seeking care for menopause or hormone-related issues.

We currently run consultations on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some availability opening up for a third day starting late November. Appointments are by booking only, no walk-ins.
We offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, depending on your location

I prescribe body-identical hormones, which are regulated, TGA-approved, and often PBS-subsidised. These are molecularly identical to the hormones your body naturally makes, with well-established safety profiles.

We don’t prescribe compounded “bioidentical” hormones from private clinics, as these aren’t regulated, and their safety and consistency can’t be guaranteed.

If you’re not sure what the difference is, don’t worry, we’ll explain it all during your consultation, so you can make informed choices with confidence.

For most women, yes HRT is safe and effective. The type of hormone replacement therapy we use today is very different to what was prescribed decades ago. We now use body-identical hormones, which are regulated, TGA-approved, and often PBS-subsidised.

The risks are small and depend on factors like your age, personal and family medical history, and the type of HRT. For most women who start treatment around the time of menopause (especially under age 60), the benefits like reduced hot flushes, better sleep, mood stability, bone protection, and reduced risk of heart disease often outweigh the risks.

HRT isn’t one-size-fits-all. We will talk through your options during your appointment and I can explain the evidence, and help you decide what’s right for you, no pressure, just clarity.

Yes and it often catches women off guard. Hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause and menopause can trigger anxiety, low mood, irritability, or even a return of symptoms you thought you’d left behind years ago. For some, it feels like PMS dialled up to 11. For others, it’s a heavy cloud that seems to come from nowhere.

This isn’t “just in your head.” Oestrogen and progesterone affect brain chemistry, including the regulation of serotonin and other mood-stabilising neurotransmitters.

The good news? You’re not stuck with it. Whether it’s hormone therapy, non-hormonal treatments, lifestyle changes, or a mix of strategies, I will work with you to get the support you need. Mental health matters just as much as hot flushes (if not more).

Yes, hormones can have a big impact on ADHD. Many women notice that their ADHD symptoms get worse during perimenopause or around their cycle. That’s because oestrogen helps regulate dopamine, the brain chemical that affects focus, motivation, and emotional regulation. So when oestrogen drops, brain fog, overwhelm, mood swings, and irritability can hit harder.

Some women who never knew they had ADHD only start connecting the dots during perimenopause, when things suddenly feel unmanageable.

If you’re feeling more scattered, forgetful, or emotionally reactive than usual, you’re not imagining it and you’re not alone. I can help assess what’s going on and explore tailored strategies, whether that’s hormonal support or lifestyle changes.

Not necessarily. Age is a factor, but it’s not a hard no, it just means we need to consider things a little more carefully.

If you’re over 60 or it’s been more than 10 years since your last period, starting MHT can carry a slightly higher risk of things like blood clots or stroke depending on your overall health. But for many women, the benefits, like reduced hot flushes, improved sleep, vaginal comfort, bone protection, and better quality of life still outweigh the risks.

I take a case-by-case approach, looking at your personal and family history, heart health, and lifestyle. Sometimes I’ll suggest starting low and slow, or exploring other treatments first. But being older doesn’t automatically rule you out.

If symptoms are affecting your quality of life, it’s always worth having the conversation.
